We love cats as much as you do...

Truth be told, we relate to their feline ways. We cater to their unique personalities and listen to their views on the world.

We find that no two cats are alike… and that’s what makes them special. That’s why they deserve special care and attention when you are away from home. Taking care of your feline friends is what we do and we do it very well.

In today’s world we are often called upon to leave the home for periods of time. That means we need to leave our house and our cats in the care of others. It makes sense to choose a professional cat-sitting service that understands and caters specifically to cat clientele. Anything less would be unfair to your feline roommates. Their comfort directly relates to their happiness… and yours.

Maintaining your cat’s physical and mental health is a serious responsibility. One that Kitten Sittin’ happily takes. Our in-home services make your time away worry-free.

Owner & Employees of Kitten Sittin’

Pat O’Shea – Owner/Kitten Sitter

Thank you for visiting the Kitten Sittin’ website. I am Pat O’Shea, the owner. I currently have 4 cats of my own (see the Not-So-Silent Partners section for a description of each). The Kitten Sitten' team has two other Cat Sitters (see their bio’s below).

I used to be a "dog person"... my favorite breed was the Olde English Sheep Dog. I had two of them when I lived up North: Lemon Jello and Gatorade. Once I moved to Florida it no longer made sense to have that type of beautiful, furry, high-maintenance pet. So I did the next best thing... I switched to cats!

When Kitten Sittin’ isn't keeping me busy I am either gardening at home or volunteering as a Tour Guide/Usher at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Because I love cats so much, I volunteer one day a week as a Tour Guide/Gift Shop Clerk at the Big Cat Rescue Sanctuary in Citrus Park. It seems I can't get enough cats in my life. We hope you and your cats become members of the Kitten Sittin’ family!

Edith Parker – Kitten Sitter

Edith is originally from New Jersey. In her mid-twenties she came to Lutz, Florida and here she has remained now for thirty-five years. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for thirty years with the Celotex Corporation until the company was sold outside the area. She now works for Seminole Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Edith's greatest joy, however, is cats. She has three of her own and volunteers at Big Cat Rescue Sanctuary on the weekends. She also belongs to HOTS (www.volunteertampabay.com) a non-profit organization that helps people find places that need volunteers (Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, etc.). She is on a team from her office. She also spends her free time with Lifepath Hospice in Hillsborough County working with caregivers to give them a respite for a few hours.

Virginia Overstreet – Kitten Sitter

Virginia doesn't remember a time in her life when she did not own at least one cat. And this includes 20 years of active duty as a Navy Commander. Virginia arrived in Tampa in January 1997 for an assignment with U.S. Central Command at MacDill AFB.

She loves the Tampa area and decided to stay after she retired in November 2000. She is trustworthy and reliable and often cat-sits for her neighbors in Seminole Heights. She currently lives with 2 cats, Stevie Ray and Bonnie.

Pat's Not-So-Silent Partners

The Princess (aka Miss Kitty, aka Diva, aka Beauty)
– Not-So-Silent Partner

Her names describe her personality. As my first cat in Florida she is the only female cat in the house. She will have nothing to do with the boys and has not forgiven me for bringing them into her happy home. “What were you thinking?” she asks. She is happiest taking a walk in the backyard.

Scooter – Not-So-Silent Partner

Scooter is the "alpha" cat... or so he thinks. I got him when the neighbors across the street moved and left him behind. I don’t think he has ever forgiven them for that. I know I haven’t. He’s my oldest cat. He too doesn’t get along with any of the other cats except for the newest member of the family, Home Show (Homey). He is my only outdoor cat and lives in a 25' x 25' enclosure in the backyard. It contains a large tree house that he can climb up and down. He comes in at night with no complaints. He’s my "laid-back" cat.

Smokey – Not-So-Silent Partner

Smokey thinks he is the "alpha" cat... and he and Scooter are constantly debating this issue. He is the heart of the family and my big, gray, rock. Smokey was also left behind when my neighbors moved. However, I don’t think the move bothered him as much as it did Scooter. Smokes' my fat cat. He weighs in at 16 pounds and squeaks instead of meows when he walks. He’s become a big brother to Homey for which I’m grateful. More than any of the other cats, he wants to be near me. I love him for that.

Home Show (aka Homey) – Not-So-Silent Partner

The newest member of the family (September 4, 2006), Home Show has put the other cats on "high alert". I was working the Big Cat Rescue Sanctuary table at the Tampa Home Show and we were directly across from the Humane Society’s table. You know the rest… Homey was born April 2006. He loves everyone, whether they love him back, or not (e.g. The Princess). He never gives up when he’s on a mission (e.g. The Princess). He is my sweetest cat. He loves to purr and loves to lick – hair, feet, ears, whatever… No matter what I’m eating, he wants it! He aims to please.
